Trilliant Names Juan Otero as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Redwood City, California, April 10, 2009 - Trilliant Incorporated, the leader in delivering Smart Grid solutions that enhance energy efficiency, utility operations, and renewable resource integration, today announced that Juan Otero has been named General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Otero joins the company after legal counsel positions with Harris Stratex Networks, Compaq Computer Corporation, and Hewlett-Packard Co. Otero joins Trilliant's executive team and will report to CEO Andy White.

"Juan's experience with some of the world's largest technology companies will benefit Trilliant as we continue to grow and expand our Smart Grid offerings, said Andy White, Chief Executive Officer at Trilliant. His domestic and international legal background in the field of corporate development, securities, litigation and strategic partnerships will be invaluable as he assumes responsibility for legal and government affairs for Trilliant.

Prior to Trilliant, Otero served as general counsel and secretary of Harris Stratex Networks, Inc., a leading specialist in backhaul solutions for mobility and broadband networks. He also served as director and senior counsel for Compaq Computer Corporation and Hewlett-Packard, and corporate counsel for Hitachi Data Systems. Otero has extensive legal experience and achievements across a broad spectrum, including leading the effort for Stratex Networks' merger with the microwave communications division of Harris Corporation, negotiating complex international transactions in regions such as Africa and the Middle East, and negotiating strategic partnerships with companies such as Alcatel-Lucent. Otero was also involved in negotiating the naming rights for the Compaq Center at San Jose (now HP Pavilion) as well as the sponsorship arrangement with the San Jose Sharks on behalf of Compaq. From 1991 through 1998, he was in private practice in Colorado and California.

"I am very excited about joining the leading Smart Grid solutions provider," said Otero. "The Trilliant leadership team, employee base, and customer track record are all very impressive. The addition of Andy White as CEO has immediately taken the company to a new level and ensures that Trilliant maintains its leadership position in the marketplace. Even in light of the current macroeconomic crisis, these are exhilarating times."

Otero holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of California at Davis and a J.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
